Go with the flow.
I woke up this Monday morning dreading to get on my peloton. Then I thought wait why do I have to get on my peloton if that’s not the type of workout I am craving? So instead I grabbed my yoga mat and placed it in my living room. I also grabbed my 3 pound peloton weights and my resistance bands. I like to use a light rubber resistance band to work on my upper body and a fabric elastic bands to warm up and workout my lower body. I also grabbed my iPad to watch some of my favorite influencer’s vlog on YouTube with my AirPod Max on. It makes me feel like I’m hanging out with a best friend without needing to do anything but listen.
To recap, the past two weeks I’ve been using a ClassPass app free trial to try out different workout studios. I was hesitant to try it but it was free so why not? I did cycling, yoga, and pilates. I’d say overall my favorite group workouts would be only yoga and pilates. I enjoy to cycle at my own pace and energy at home on my peloton, just not daily. It can definitely too much if I cycle daily, so I switch it up! Also, lifting hasn’t been on my radar lately because I am still healing and I don’t want to cause myself more damage then good. I’m a listening to my body and being patient. Yet, I am enjoying yoga and pilates so much.
That being said, I want to remind everyone that we don’t have to follow a routine or anyone else’s workout schedule. And sometimes even the schedule you created for yourself isn’t working out or feeling right for you and that’s okay. Change it up to a schedule that is realistic and ideal for you. Because at the end of the day, the goal is to move with love and intention of giving your body and mind what it needs. There is no good in beating yourself up for not following through with something you are trying out. Keep a workout schedule that is possible and you can enjoy - make it a happy time not a scary one. I do what makes me feel more energized, excited, and alive. I hope you do the same. Just don’t forgot to move with intention.
