Life Pains

No one ever seems to tell you that as you grow older your body holds stress. This past week I experienced unbearable pain in my tailbone. I was so confused to what had caused it. I hadn’t fallen on it, nor had I any form of traumatizing event happened recently.

All I can remember is that I went to Pilates Tuesday morning feeling great and by Wednesday morning I started to feel discomfort. Come Wednesday night, I was in a lot of pain that continued to Friday. Friday afternoon, I got myself to the doctors where I was told I pulled a muscle and it’ll likely take a week or more to heal. In the meantime, I was given some strong painkillers to help me manage through.

Honestly, I did have a stressful beginning to my week —maybe all that tension while trying to relax by working out created this pain. Who knew?! The lesson learned here for me was that we can try our best to manage our stress; yet, we just never know what can happen. We just have to roll with the punches and “just keep swimming.”
